Firefly Serenity home sweet home_LL
OK. It's been a WEEK! It all started with sniffles last Saturday. And I STILL have this crud hanging on. Now, I AM feeling better.
Tuesday when I went to the Dr. I felt like the cold shadow of death was actually following me around the house.
But still, congested, and head-hurty. Still haven't gone back to my contacts, either. AND, without going into TMI-land let's just say that antibiotics are not the most fun things in the world. Those of you who have had to take massive huge doses, just nod along and understand my pain.

Even though I've been off a week, my house is a slacker-disaster. So I gotta do with the cleaning sometime this weekend.
Annnnnnnd..I gotta figure out how to hook up my new digital camera to my computer. I didn't have any luck with the one that I had from work...so maybe just randomly this time will be easier.
'Tis another Kodak EasyShare. Different model, but basically the same. Got it for my upcoming vacation, cause I'm thinking that the office might miss it, if it went AWOL for a week!

***bonus with todays post:: Yesterday's Friday 5**
Smells, and memories.

1. Do you have a scent that when you smell it, brings up a memory? Do share.
I have always associated smells with memories. Lots of different things. One of my favorites is that indescribable, unmistakable scent of Fall. leaves, and dried grass and a scent of incoming rain *****I love it!

2. Songs. Is there a particular song that brings back happy memories? Song title and memory, if you care to share that much.
The "Once More With Feeling" soundtrack always makes me happy. Good times with good friends at the Sing-Along.

3. How about a song that brings up painful memories?
Song title and memory, if you care to share that much.
Randy Travis, Forever & Ever Amen. I still can't listen to it without crying. I will change the station at work, or leave the office when it comes on.

4. Food. Is there a certain food that conjures up memories?
I always think of Grandpa when we make fried apple pies. Those were his ultimate favorite. I remember him sharing them with me. :)

5. Clothing? Do you have an item of clothing or if you see a certain item, does it make you think of a time/place or person?
All my costume stuff holds memories. RenFaires, parties, DragonCon. My costumes make me happy. :)
...except for the "cursed cloak"

Ahhhhh, back to work. Just like falling off a bicycle.

Boy-O Did I return to major drama. We may be short an Asst.Mgr. (again. We can't seem to keep 'em around. wonder why?) He's been kinda lazin' off on some of his duties....which I've mentioned in the past. Both here and to the Manager. Which...I mean, hey. It's kinda a crappy job sometimes.
OK most of the time. But, not to totally run the kid down...he's young- And used to working outside "labor" jobs. I just don't think he's ready to sit behind a desk.

So, NEway, we had to share his workload today. Between the three of us we got our calls done at 3:00. It's a job that's usually finished before noon. I got my lunch break at 4:00.

Also learned today that the whole state wil start running Class 5 loans. These are the larger loans that involve insurance and personal property liens. These are the loans that, for a while only our office ran. Now there are 3 offices statewide that run them. And it looks like, starting next month--statewide! Omigosh I can see the train wreck from here! LOL

Although. The Manager was telling me that they may set up a "central hub office where all class 5 applications are faxed- worked up- built- and then faxed back to the base office."
He said that he may apply to work there due to his experience.
"Oh no!" I say. "If you go, I'm goin' too!"
Our Supervisor is freaking at the whole idea. *snicker*
Then I told him that I could work there too.....
Then I realized how cool it would be that I could say I worked at the 'Hub'.
*small fangirly things amuse me so much*

Ahhh work drama. How I missed it.....well, not so much.

Back In Black

1. Who's the black sheep in your family? Me. Definitely.

2. Do you take your coffee black? Black with sugar. Sometimes creamery stuff...but usually black with sugar.

3. Do you own a Blackberry? Pssht. I barely own a real cellphone.

4. Which black forest would you rather eat - cake or ham? Cake.....Mmmmmmmmm with cherries.

5. Have you ever had a black eye? Nope. I'm a lover, not a fighter.

todays  [info]thefridayfive  (ok it's Saturday morning. but- HEY! this is pretty quick for me.  hee!)

1. What's your favourite TV network?   I dunno. I still love to hate FOX. Probably my actual favorite would be TLC. You can watch that network all weekend and not get bored. Other than that- I really don't have a favorite.

2.If you could create your own channel, what would it be?  Easy. And this has potential, so all you TV execs who read my Flist, listen up:
Channel Fan. The greatest network on TV- where all my favorite shows that are AWSOME- but are only given two, or less seasons for my viewing pleasure before being canceled WRONGLY.  It can be fan base supported.  Rabid fans know what we want, and will support!  Ahem... sorry, off on a tangent...

3.What TV show did you watch as a child, that you wish they would bring back?  I didn't watch a lot of TV when I was a kid....
Can I say Forever Knight?  I was in Jr. High then.  That's as close as I can get.

4.What show have you always hated, and wonder why they ever made such a dumb show?  Jackass. I can't count the number of times I sat through part of that show (The Ex and his buddies loved it)  thinking- I can't believe these guys are getting PAID for this. What is wrong with society today?

5.What TV show's seasons would you buy on DVD?  Well, I have Buffy. All but season 3 of Angel. Firefly. Forever Knight. Dark Angel. The Dresden Files. Smallville (but he kept those)  I'm starting my collection of NCIS.  I would LOVE to have Torchwood on DVD, but they are still a little to proud of it for me to afford it right now.  I'd like to have the X-Files.... Yeah. Most of the TV I do watch, is on DVD. More proof that I tend to run behind on things ;)

What do you see when you are looking out of the window closest to you?   RIght now, mostly....dark.
:)
When it's daytime, I see the front lawn. And the chainlink fence that divides the lawn from the ditch and makes it difficult to mow. And the HUGE honeysuckle bush thats growing on the fence. Past that is the street. Quiet, but with enough traffic to remind us that we're in the middle of town. Past the street is the neighbor's house. Big. Two story Sort of rust-colored siding, with a shade darker shutters and trim. Trampoline in the yard.

Who was the last person coming into your room?  Gramma.

What is the most predominant colour around you?  Hard to say in a room stacked with scraps of material and sewing notions...but....blue, I think.

What is right behind you?  The back of my chair.   An iron board. And a wall with no decorations pinned to it.  13 wasted years.

What is on today's calendar sheet?  March.  And a picture of a white sandy beach.    ((Still looking for that island vacation, Spirk))

1. Favorite shoes? All I can wear now are Crocks. Well--Those cheaper knock-off crocks  ('cause I can't make myself pay that much for plastic shoes)  I honestly think they are kinda ugly. But they are sooooooooo comfortable it totally overpowers my urge to be stylish.
And they are the only things that fit over my braces.

2. What time does the sun set near you?  6:00 ish. I'm so ready for daylight savings time to kick back in. I don't like driving home from work in the dark.

3. Do you like spending time in the sun?  Not especially. Every once in awhile I'll get a weird urge to work outside in the garden and soak up some sun.  But not often.

4. Do you burn or tan?  Neither. I'm a pale, pale vampire girl.

5. Monopoly: yay! or no way!  Yanno...I had this game when I was a young pup. I remember starting several games....but I don't remember finishing.   Humm.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*

OK. this is just weird. I have a spot- just above my left eyebrow, just up into my hairline- that is driving me mad.  It's tingly and feels like something is crawling on my scalp just there. It doesn't itch...just tingles.  It's a spot about the size of my thumbprint.  I've looked. There is no redness or discoloration. No flakey skin or anything out of the ordinary. But it's been feeling all weird all day long.
WTF?

*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Possibly too much Torchwood overload. Had a dream last night that instead of calling our customers, we would hunt them down for our payments.  They were all aliens, of course. And we had these huge flashy guns that we carried....And all had the black trenchcoat  look going on. Very interesting dream.  Maaaaaaybe I shouldn't watch episodes just before bedtime.  :)
